My professional background is in archives. In the last decade I have been responsible for two of the finest sets of collections in the country – West Yorkshire Archives and the special collections of art, rare books and manuscripts in Leeds University Library.

These range across medieval charters, 19th century maps, modern administrative records (often electronic), the First Folio of Shakespeare’s plays, manuscript letters and stories by the Brontës, a page from the Gutenberg Bible, First World War artefacts and 20th century British artworks.

Freelance since 2015, I have extended my range to include expertise in Arts Council funding, trusts and foundations as well as further Heritage Lottery Fund bids and a range of cataloguing and community projects.

My experience includes all the challenges of managing the storage and preservation of heritage collections and widening access physically and virtually to them.

I hold a Masters degree in archive administration from University College, London and am a registered member of the Archives and Records Association (UK and Ireland). I am currently a Board member of ARA and was its Chair from 2009-2011.
